After nearly ten years of experience in senior management roles in the advertising and communications industry, I left the UK at the beginning of 2001 for a three-month sabbatical in Sydney.
During that time I realised my interest was less on continuing to climb the corporate ladder and more about discovering what life was really all about, for me. The first step was to quit my London-based job, extend my three-month sabbatical and begin a search for what I really wanted to do each day. Before long, I decided to resume my interest in psychology by pursuing a new career in this field.
My postgraduate training at the Australian College of Applied Psychology in Sydney gave me a theoretical, experiential and ethical foundation from which to practice as a counsellor.
Since my training, I first worked in Lifeline Sydney's personal counselling program and then set up my own practice in the eastern suburbs, working with clients dealing with a range of issues including relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss and their own search for the 'meaning of life'.
More recently I have begun working with clients in lifestyle coaching, with a focus on a holistic approach to achieving your optimal wellbeing. To find out more about this, please click here.
I continue to undertake professional training and workshops, supervision and personal psychotherapy on a regular basis to extend my personal and professional learning.
My belief is that self-exploration is a lifelong journey and my aim is to be with my clients through part of this journey, to help with the healing from problems and to facilitate personal growth.
